Characteristic of Sound
1. Loudness
Two sounds can be distinguish,if instruments or source same but sound has different levels called 'Loudness'.
Its S.I unit is 'desibel' (DB) or 'phon',
2.Intensity
Sound intensity, otherwise called acoustic intensity, is characterized as the power conveyed by sound waves per unit region toward a path opposite to that area. The SI unit of power, which incorporates sound force, is the watt per square meter (W/m2). One application is the commotion estimation of sound power in the air at an audience's area as a sound energy quantity.
3.Pitch
'Pitch' is the sound characteristic by which two sounds of same instruements and same loudness can distinguish by different frequency.
4.Quality
Two sounds of same loudness and same pitch but produce from different instruments is called 'quality' or 'timbre'.
5.Noise
'Noise' is the irregular,harsh,discontinues,non-periodic and unpleasent which is about to 120 DB.
6.Music
Music is thbe regular,smooth,continouse,periodic and pleasent which is about to 10DB - 3O DB.
